New Cafe at 113 Court Street

This just in from BHB tipster “CB”:

According to the Mgr, the “Z-7 Caffe” opened today in the old frozen yogurt space.  Emphasis seems to be on pastries and baked goods, but the menu covers a full line of breakfast entrees,as well as soups, sandwiches and some Greek items. Sort of a diner, but without the seating (only a few tables).

Brooklyn Heights needs to freshen up it’s dining options. Maybe another branch of Noodle Pudding, or basically anything with a little charm. Maybe this is the thing? Hope it’s not just another diner, or “bakery” with the same stale bagels and processed cookies.

I stopped in Tuesday early evening and they were stumped by my request for an Iced Coffee – offering me hot coffee, poured over ice, in a paper cup. I refused their concoction and left. I don’t have high hopes for this place. The fact that their signage is all just kinda taped over the Yogo Monster signage and decals tells me that they aren’t planning to stay long either…

It would be nice if there were more late-night food options in the area. Court Street seems to turn into a graveyard after 10 PM– not counting the fast food places.
