later, cobble. dave, have a great trip!

  • daveinbedstuy

    nite all

  • Karl Junkersfeld

HUH. Was that a bad dream or what?

  • cobble

Karl, Don’t take it to heart, we’re just goofing around! No harm intended.

Loved your B. Bridge piece, by the way. : )

  • The Where

Anyone know how I can contact Roy Sloane?

  • AEB

I now know what it’s like to live in an occupied country….

  • nabeguy

So basically, the idea is to hijack a site and hold it captive to your personal circle jerk. Guys, if you can’t get a life, at least get a phone and stop subjecting us to your insipid and banal banter. You’re no more clever here than you are on Brownstoner.

  • CGar

Come on! We come in peace! Some of us even went to one of your gatherings at Roebling Inn. We’d welcome you at Brownstoner any time!

David on Middagh — Apologies for my “idiot” comment, but, as Cobble said, Pete is a friend of mine, and it was merely a term of affection for him.

  • BH Lover

I was wondering why all the posts today. People, please, “GET A LIFE”!

  • nabeguy

You don’t come in peace, you come in your…I won’t complete that line out of respect for my fellow BHB devotees who see the OTW’s as a place to post thoughts that are pertinent to the neighborhood.

  • Ringo

aren’t we great here in brooklyn heights? get a life! get off my lawn! yous kids with all your loud typing!!!

speaking of which, I sat next to a women last week at noodle pudding who ate her entire meal with a finger in her ear scowling at all the LOUD people. her companion was delighted, I’m sure.

  • my2cents

If you aren’t here to carp about dogs, dog supply stores, children, lack of restaurants, lameness of shopping, the BHA, parking, cyclists, bike lanes, or the dog park, or the developers, or dog developers, then get the hell off this site! leave the kvetching to the professionals. This was the most meaningless and longest thread in the history of the site. You are all more than welcome here. I am glad to have some new voices, but can you write shit others want to read?

  • nabeguy

Ringo, if you have a point, then please make it. Otherwise, beat(les) it.

  • jessibaby

Oh come on, at least we kept Melanie Hope Greenberg from posting today!

  • my2cents

LOL. Jessibaby, you have made your best post of the day

  • CGar

    Night, jessibaby!

  • AEB

Yes, exactly. Just as Brownstoners have established their own posting conventions, which apparently involve endless mutual badinage, let’s call it, so the posters here have established their own conversational form, which is outer-directed.

What happened here today is akin to self-aggrandizing, self-congratulatory party crashing–fun for those who did it, but really, REALLY tedious for the rest of us.

In other words, Brownstoner guys ‘n’ gals, you hijacked the site. You were incredibly RUDE. Not cool.

  • CGar

Before I go, my2cents, your 9:29 post is hysterical — wish you posted on Brownstoner.

Also, jessi, don’t you think the beginning of nabeguy’s 910 and the end of his 946 would be right at home in the OT?

    beat(les) it, lol.

  • Kim G

Ok, I’m done. I can’t believe I read every post…by the way, I’m in BH

  • nabeguy

Okay, let’s review the virtual tape. Biff get’s on at 9:39 AM and start the flow of …(fill in the blank, but leave room for the one between their ears). CGar makes a final comment at 10:44 PM. All in all, it sounds like one hell of productive day. Guys, there’s a world beyond your keyboards. Go out and discover it. Soak up some sun. Man, there are probably Hasidic scholars out there with better tans than you have. And btw, CGar, I used to post on Bstoner all the time until it got overrun by this kind of inanity.

  • cobble

Ooh, Inanity. Well, I just don’t have anything to say to that.

My2cents: Oooh, I could just hug you! We usually talk about cats, strollers, brownies, Park Slope and DIBS sex life, would that help? Can you come over tomorrow? About 9:30am give or take a few? (Mr. B likes to sleep in some days, you know how it is.)

Kim, I’m so sorry, I sincerely wish we could give you that 6.5 minutes of your life back.

  • Ringo

My keyboard goes where I go Nabeguy. Insert old person joke here.

Guess my point was this is usually a pretty grouchy set, but then you went and said inanity. I dont have anything to say to that either.

  • Ringo

I do like the beat(les) it thing tho

  • nabeguy

Seems I struck a chord with the “i” word. Just so there’s no confusion…
    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/inanity
Does that fill the bill (or Biff, as the case may be)? Perhaps your real problem is with the “I” word and your unending need to flog it on all of us. Old or not, I know where I am, and despite evidence to the contrary, it’s not spending all day on this site.

  • nabeguy

BTW, Ringo, I’m glad you appreciated the beat(les) line. Consider yourself served.

  • cobble

“despite evidence to the contrary, it’s not spending all day on this site.”

You have roughly 9 posts today, nabeguy, not bad, it’s a start. But I have faith that you can do better!

I’m sure we could help you get your post count up. It takes effort, and dedication, but I have a good feeling about you. First, you have to speak to your employer. Tell them you post on BHB, and you haven’t had enough time during the day to really give it your ALL. He/She may appreciate your initiative, focus and dedication to your extracurricular activities. Over on Brownstoner, we have a manual we hand out to newbies which explains the various tactics one can use to improve one’s post count. Failing the courage to confront your employer with the request for extra blog time, may I suggest a Blackberry or other hand held device. Excellent for sneaking in a post here and there, even in the most corporate atmosphere. (CGar does it all the time.) Then, foist as much work as you can onto your co-workers. They don’t know about all this fun blog stuff, and they think they’re supposed to be working at the office, but we know better. ; )

I hope this helps, feel free to stop in the B’stoner OT for add’l pointers. We’re here to help!

  • Karl Junkersfeld

As much as I hate to admit it, there was some pretty witty banter going back and forth in the last 20 or so posts. Seriously. I loved nabeguy’s beat(les)it and inanity comments to name a few, along with my2cents “leave the kvetching to the professionals.”
Also, AEB statement “I now know what it’s like to live in an occupied country….” had me laughing also.

It’s funny, the interlopers really heightened their game in response and it made for an enjoyable read. cobbles last post was well written and thought provoking and possibly even instructive. lol

Yes, I have to admit I enjoyed the SmackDown between the BHB players and the Brownstoner interlopers towards the end of this meandering string of posts.

  • Karl Junkersfeld

Oh yea, I would be remiss if I didn’t note an excellent line from jessibaby, that being:

Oh come on, at least we kept Melanie Hope Greenberg from posting today!

No offense to melanie, but that was pretty funny.

It’s too bad one had to read through endless dribble to get to some precious pearls which were fast a furious toward the latter stages.

  • Karl Junkersfeld

Did i write “endless dribble”? I was reading about my NJ ( I mean Brooklyn) Nets and had basketball on the mind. I meant to say “endless drivel”

  • CGar

I realize that some of you did not appreciate our blog wilding, and for that I’m sorry. I have to say that some of you are hysterical, and I wish you would come visit us in the Brownstoner OT. nabeguy, come back! It’s really not all inanity! Shout outs also to Karl Junkersfeld and my2cents. Your thoughts on fielding a BHB vs. Brownstoner softball team?? Kickball? Capture the Flag? BTW, we do get out, quite a bit in fact — most of the Brownstoner regulars have become friends and see each other off the OT regularly. But we also need a release during the day (re-write?) and head for laughs in the OT.
