“ET, no. He’s in food and drink round up back on our own planet.”

Must have been the mention of Al Di La that brought him out of hiding.

  • ET

thanks cobble, was just going to ask how do you get to the restaurant thread on this site.

  • CGar

    Are we unbanned???

  • cobble

Yes, dear, it seems we weren’t ever banned, there was just a log jam in the moderation cue. It’s been roto-rootered!

  • ET

His 1st post in 3 months and all it says is ‘Thank you.’????
I’m not gonna read all 70 posts, but what does it mean?

  • jessibaby

    ET – not sure.

  • CGar

    “Basking Robbins” “HagenDaz”

It’s Baskin Robbins and Haagen Dazs, idiot.

  • cobble

” Replaced by a ice cream store—Basking Robbins? (there were chains way back then too)…or
    HagenDaz?”

No, can’t be. There were chains but AFTER when I was talking about earlier.

Hmm, no, the Baskin Robbins was always downstairs. Maybe it was some other ice cream store. I just don’t remember one there, ever. John’s place was upstairs, it was on the South side near Clinton. I think it’s an asian food place now. It has the curved iron staircase. I’m almost positive.

  • cobble

Haagen Daz was always on the next block where it is now. I know, I worked there in HS.

As I said over there, it’s as cryptic as when Orson Welles uttered “Rosebud” at the start of Citizen Kane.

“it’s as cryptic as when Orson Welles uttered “Rosebud” at the start of Citizen Kane.”

I think it was more like a ‘testing testing 123′ to see if we were watching.

  • CGar

Does everyone know that the Haagen Dazs store on Montague is the first one opened ever? In 1976, I believe the plaque out front says.

  • ET

btw – where’s brooklyn heights? and is it nice?

  • Biff Champion

“btw – where’s brooklyn heights? and is it nice?”

No, it’s a terrible place. You would be wise to never, ever go there.

  • daveinbedstuy

Has anyone who lives in brooklyn Heights ever been to bed Stuy??? Anyone????

  • ET

that’s what I’ve heard….is it true the people that live in Brooklyn Heights are idiots?

  • Biff Champion

“Has anyone who lives in brooklyn Heights ever been to bed Stuy??? Anyone????”

Yes, I live in BH and have been to BS.

    What’s your point?

  • cobble

“where’s brooklyn heights? and is it nice?”

Eh, it’s just ok. Cobble Hill is nicer! ; )

  • ET

“Yes, I live in BH and have been to BS. ”

Yes, I live in BH and am full of BS.

    “Dispatches from America’s first suburb”

Suburb? Is Brooklyn Heights in New Jersey?

  • Biff Champion

Does Bay Ridge have a blog or nobody there owns a computer?

  • Biff Champion

    Oops, meant to add:

    :-)

  • cobble

I’ve heard of Bay Ridge, isn’t that on Staten Island? : P

  • juuggaloo

    what the ?

I’d find the explanation for all these comments, but I’m guessing it’s buried in the 175 comments.

  • ET

There is a Bay Ridge forum type of site.
I was actually thinking of starting a Bay Ridge Blog, but who would care?

  • ET

“I’d find the explanation for all these comments,”

The explanation is: We <3 Brooklyn Heights!

  • Biff Champion

“I’ve heard of Bay Ridge, isn’t that on Staten Island? : P”

I thought Bay Ridge was a type of potato chip.

  • cobble

juuggaloo, It would only be a huge waste of your time. Life is too short.

The simple answer is that there isn’t really any explanation for this. Any rational explanation, anyway. LOL!

  • ET

We should get the What in here.

  • ET

okay, see you around the nabe.
    Nite.
