Dear BP Markowitz,

I applaud that you are bringing attention to the 400,000 Brooklynites without insurance and your man-care campaign. I have cited this staggering number dozens of times since I first saw it posted on your website last March.

But, please take a stand for your 400,000 constituents and, as a city leader, join with Congress Member Anthony Weiner in his call for single-payer ‘Medicare for All’ (HR 676) as the only economically viable solution for comprehensive coverage. It’s not just good for those uncovered, it’s vital for Brooklyn’s economic recovery as well. The current broken healthcare system costs lives and jobs.

Tell Congress, President Obama and the nation what Brooklyn needs — ‘Medicare for All’ — instead of taking what the Max Baucus’s in Washington and their health insurance lobby paymasters dictate to us.
